The Quilting Bee Pattern

I just recieved my quilting bee pattern and am excited to start on it. I am thinking about making a bag for myself with it on there. Hence the linen underneath. And using more springy colors for the bag, and maybe use the colors shown as part of doll quilt for Isabella's dolls.

Winter is here, with no signs of spring. Kinda makes me sad. This was out my back window this morning. And more snow is on its way.

Valentines Day. Photo of the Day.

I am really liking the blogs that are doing {or have done} a photo of the day posts. If I do this, hopefully it will get me in the habit of actually taking daily pictures. This is my Vday present from Ashley. It is a pair of knitting needles that she made. She sharpened them and dipped them in beeswax to coat, and also balled up some yarn for me. She was so excited to give it to me.

snowshoeing trip

Here are a few of the pictures I took from Brandons snowshoeing field trip on Friday. Unfortunately my digital camera died, and I took the rest of the pictures with my film camera. So, I will get those developed later this week and share those.

I love finding new things to try and since I have started reading blogs, I have definitely found a plethora of things to keep me occupied.

For the month of February I plan to try out a lot of new things. When reading blogs today, and clicking frmo blog to blog I came across honeyflake and I really want to try  felting. I really like the colors she has used.

Many things happening in town this month as well. This Friday there is a fitness/hobby expo at a local charter school. It sounds pretty fun. Though we won't be going as a family..I will be going with Ashley as an "exhibitor" to display my scrapbooks, and have activities for the kids. I am going to bring all my punches and scissors, and some paper for the little ones, and I am going to make a bunch of little matchbook scrapbooks for the older kids {and parents} to make and decorate.

Saturday there is an event with our local symphony orchestra at the Opera House....Every month there is a different musical event where kids can come and listen to the instruments and try them out. We haven't been for quite a while, but it is pretty neat. This week is drums.

Sunday there is another fitness expo at the local private Montessori. It looks like tons of fun. With events like snowshoeing, face painting, rock wall climbing, healthy snacks and a look at their greenhouse.

Lets see what other fun things....Valentines Day of course. Which I am steadily working on the little vday bags and gifts. I think I have 13 done. Which I guess is not very much considering I have about 70 total to do. But I have plenty of times to work on them the next 11 days. And hey if I do 6 a day I should be set:)

There is a few events at our local childrens museum that we might attend as well. And I am sure there is more on our calendar. I plan to get 29 scrapbook layouts done for the month of February and I have quite a few sewing projects in the works. One of Brandons friends {the cutest little girl} is heading downstate on the 13th for a heart procedure, and so he wanted me to make her something. So, I am going to make her a little tote bag, and an artist drawing case. I got the tutorial from Craft Apple but I see she doesn't have her tutorial up anymore. And Brandon will make her something as well.

Then next week is Random Acts of Kindness Week. So, I will be having at least a few RAK's over the week of the 10th through the 16th. So, be sure to come back and check it out! 

WIP

This is what I am working on now: Valentines Day Bags for each of the kids in each of my kids' classes. They are little linen bags that I am hand stitching hearts on. This will be my..while i am in car line and while I am at Isabellas ballet class project. And I guess whenever I get to it at home project because for the half hour I was at ballet I got 2 done. And I have 2 weeks to do them. So yeah, um I better get working on them. I can't remember how many kids are in each class, but I have 59 hearts cut out. Which is probably close. I think Isabella has 14 in her class, and Brandon has 24 in his class. Ashley probably has about 24 also. Then I am going to make some for cousins and such as well. So, I guess I should find more pink fabric and cut out more hearts. Once I finish the bags I am going to fill them with some homemade caramels, and a valentines day card, and maybe something else.
